Independent Member of the Board of GMC Services International Limited

Do you have demonstrable understanding and experience of international consultancy, including startups and building business, preferably within the field of healthcare? The General Medical Council (GMC) is seeking to appoint an Independent Member to the Board of GMC Services International Ltd to bring experience of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) with a track record of business growth. We are looking for candidates with experience of overseas target markets, including the Middle East, Africa, South and Southeast Asia and Latin America.

GMC Services International (GMCSI) has delivered services across the UK and the rest of the world to improve patient safety since 2017. From medical training in the UK, to the review of overseas regulatory frameworks, we provide unparalleled knowledge and expertise. GMCSI is a wholly owned subsidiary of the General Medical Council (GMC), a world leading professional healthcare regulator. GMCSI provides services based on the regulatory expertise of the GMC and that represent its core organisational values of integrity, excellence, collaboration, fairness, and transparency.

The Board meets in London four times a year, although additional meetings may be arranged at the discretion of the Chair. Your expertise will be vital for optimising the commercial opportunities for GMCSI. Fees and expenses will be paid for attending meetings.

Your broad business acumen will have been gained in an executive or non-executive role, ideally with an understanding of trading subsidiaries of a charity and/or regulator. You will have the ability to think and act strategically, influence others and consider the bigger picture as well as the detail.
